Arkansas is one of 25 U.S. states--others include Virginia, Alabama, South Carolina, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska--without a major sports franchise, but it does support the only minor-league baseball team that represents an entire state, the Arkansas Travelers (though one could certainly argue that certain Texas Rangers rosters probably deserved the same distinction). If I owned the team I'd make them play at Crater of Diamonds State Park for the delicious puns alone, but since I don't, they'll have to bus in from their home in Little Rock to take on the Frisco RoughRiders for three games this week (4 p.m. Sunday, 7 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday) at Dr Pepper Ballpark, 7300 RoughRiders Trail. Tickets are $7 to $19. Visit ridersbaseball.com for tickets and info.
