Screams

Personally, the idea of watching some metal bands is about as scary as it gets for me. Not the good ones--AC/DC, Sabbath, Motorhead, Metallica, etc.--but the really dumb ones, like Gwar or Slipknot. Honestly, I'd much rather sit at home and watch a marathon of Two and a Half Men than be forced to sit through a set by either one. And that's saying something. However, if you're one of those people who loves a little hokey gore mixed in with your heavy riffage, then the Studio Movie Grill has a treat for you. This Wednesday they'll screen Death Rock: Part One, a collection of horror-rock gems put together by the folks at HorrorRemix.com and including 1987's Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare, 1986's Trick or Treat and cult-favorite shorts like Hell's Bells and the classic Heavy Metal Parking Lot (be on the lookout for our upcoming tribute film, Heavy Metal Tea Party, where the metal fans grow up and embrace their paranoia). Showtime for the free screening is 10 p.m.; Studio Movie Grill is located at 5405 Belt Line Road in Addison. Visit horrorremix.com for a trailer and more info.
