Hey, have you heard this? You can help the planet by recycling, saving energy, composting, going organic, etc. It's true! We read that somewhere. OK...we actually have read it pretty much freakin' EVERYWHERE, all the freakin' TIME! Gotta do our part to save the planet! Do it! Do it now, dammit, or you alone will be responsible for killing Earth, blah, blah, blah! Sigh. OK, didn't mean to get all testy there, it's just that the constant drumming of green, green, green has reached the point that we want to go out and stomp a squirrel or something. But that would be wrong. Guess we better head out to the Heard Natural Science Museum's 3rd Annual Green Living Family Festival this Saturday to make amends. There, we can get an early glimpse of the new 2010 Smugmobile...er, Toyota Prius hybrid car...learn about recycling, visit more than 30 enviro-friendly vendors and hear about the wonders of weather from KTVT-Channel 11 chief meteorologist Larry Mowry. Yes, we can take a full day, from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m., to apologize to Ma Nature for our recent peevishness as we walk the Heard's miles of trails. So help us, though, if a squirrel so much as looks at us funny, it'll be stomp city. The Heard is located on FM 1378, south of McKinney. For directions and info, visit heardmuseum.org.
