Remember when your homemade Mother's Day meals were marginally better than mud pies? That's not cute anymore. Luckily, as an adult, you can enlist the help of a celebrity chef. This year, Tre Wilcox, a contender on Bravo's Top Chef, demonstrates dishes inspired by his mother. The menu includes marinated gulf shrimp with watermelon, lemon, ginger and olive oil, and cornmeal-olive oil sake with rum whipped cream and blueberry syrup. Tre Cooks for Mom is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday at Central Market, 5750 Lovers Lane. Admission is $70. Call 214-361-5754 or visit ChefTre.com.
