More About

I grew up right outside of Washington, D.C., and was exposed at an early age to a lot of different cultures…and their cuisines. The district is home to a plethora of Ethiopian restaurants, for instance, so I know my Ethiopian food, and I sure do love it. (Very vegetarian-friendly, and you eat with your hands!) Another one of my exposures, Moroccan food, is a vastly different experience from Ethiopian food, but still totally excellent, so I would be a fool not to be stoked to try other African cuisines. And so would you. Join the festivities at the Taste of Africa, one of five weekends of African culture for the entire family as part of the African Unity Festival sponsored by DFW International. There will be dishes from five African nations, as well as a Parade of Nations ceremony. Taste Africa at the African-American Museum, 3536 Grand Ave., at 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $50. Visit dfwinternational.org/AfricanUnity/AfricanTaste for more information.
