For those of us who don't flee town for Memorial weekend, a good fest or fair is just the right thing. Dallas doesn't disappoint with the 40th annual ARTFEST, Friday through Sunday at Fair Park. Enjoy the works of more than 200 artists, the music of several bands and the creme de any festival--fair food! ARTFEST is a fund-raiser for The 500 Inc., a volunteer organization that supports local arts organizations. And starting this year, it really is for the whole family, because (well-behaved and leashed) dogs are allowed at the festival as well. ARTFEST takes place at Fair Park, 3809 Grand Ave. Friday's event is $20 per person, from 6 to 9 p.m. The main event will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
