Whoa, Girlie

Do you want to learn to rope a calf cowgirl-style? Cowgirls and ranch women from the Dallas-Fort Worth area will be on hand to tell you how and much more at the Women's Museum Hold Your Horses free outdoor festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will also be crafts for the kids, cowboy and cowgirl cutouts, food and refreshments. "It's just outdoor fun," said Denita Malvern, the museum's education programs manager. But it's also an opportunity to recognize the many women who live this uniquely American lifestyle. "This just gives us a chance to put them in the forefront," said Malvern. Be sure to also check out the indoor photography exhibit Tall in the Saddle. The Women's Museum is located at 3800 Parry Ave. Call 214-915-0860.
Sat., June 6, 1-4 p.m., 2009
