Avi Exposes Another Troublemaker on Greenville -- Himself

Going batty: Buzz has always been kind of fond of Avi Adelman—a position not common among many of our readers, who would prefer to do their drinking on Lower Greenville Avenue without being hassled by Adelman. It's not that Buzz agrees with Adelman's efforts to drive the bars from his hood. We just have a soft spot in our heart for anyone who pisses off as many people as Adelman regularly does.

So, it's with sincere—well, sort of sincere—concern that we say this: Avi, dude, when the cops start ticketing you for alleged douchebaggery, it's time to get a little perspective.

Adelman was out early Sunday morning doing what he normally does in the wee hours of the weekend: videotaping the goings-on on Lower Greenville Avenue. Only this time, he got ticketed for an alleged Class C misdemeanor assault.

Adelman declines to comment on the charge, but according to the police report, 25-year-old Arikca Hanson was with an "injured male who was being transported by" Dallas Fire Rescue on the 1900 block of Greenville Avenue when Adelman began videotaping.

According to the police report, two witnesses said that Adelman "violently pushed [Hanson] forward stating 'Fuck you, bitch, get out of my way.'" Two Dallas police officers who were also on the scene "heard [Adelman] yell at [Hanson and] turned to observe [Hanson] stumbling forward." The officers note that Adelman was reaching for a can of pepper spray, at which point he was once again heard saying, "Fuck you, bitch." The officers intervened by stepping in between the two "and bringing his right arm down to keep him from spraying" Hanson, and the two other witnesses were standing nearby.

Hanson says she and another woman had just stopped to help a guy they didn't even know, who was unconscious on the street, and spoiled Adelman's shot. You know film auteurs—they can be so temperamental.

"I threw my arms up like, 'I don't understand—you're pushing me and you're pulling out your pepper spray.' And that's what happened," Hanson told Unfair Park. "I didn't touch him, didn't ask why he was filming, didn't say a word to him."

Maybe Adelman's been watching The Dark Knight and is undergoing Batman's existential struggle: Can a vigilante ever truly be a hero? Or is a jerk with a video camera just a jerk with a video camera?

Here's a hint, Avi: Look at yourself, then look at Christian Bale, the guy who played Batman. See the difference? It should be pretty freakin' obvious.

"What kind of person would defend bad behavior?" The kind of person who defends scumbags like Avi Adelman. His karma will come.

I say it again who is for civilty step to Avi's side those who want drunkness as a "right" step to the other side If people are "offended" by his videotaping WE ARE OFFENDED BY YOUR CRIMINAL OR CRIMINAL LIKE ACTIVITY What kind of person would defend bad behavior? Would you want that person working for you? watching your children? If you answer yes to either of those 2 questions YOU DONT COUNT

Dude. Maybe he is an asshole, but stooping to the level of personal insult doesn't make you look real cool, either. Or did I read you wrong when you said "dude, look at yourself, you're not hot or good looking like Christian Bale, so stfu!" g

since dallas.org won't post this...Lets try to get your story straight allen - firstly the guy on the ground could of been drunk, on drugs, had a medical condition...who knows considering we had no idea who the guy was. we happened to be standing next to him, some guy decked him and ran off, man fell to the ground, no one bothered to try to help, just stepped over him so we (mind you it took two of us considering we weigh 115) to roll him over. we took his pulse and tried to unsucessfully wake him. so with a bit of intelligence we flagged the cops down and asked them to call the paramedics. end of part 1. next we filled out statements and answered questions. now let me clarify something else, i haven't had a sip of alcohol in almost 2 years so i can promise i wasn't drunk. next we went back to check on the guy, see if someone knew who he was or who to call - again thats what decent human beings are raised to do. well walking back over to him got us in the way of the camera...hence the pushing and cussing by avi. if he is innocent he would post the entire video but he won't because he is still trying to figure out how to edit out his voice and his actions. i don't care who avi is or what he does. i don't go out to bars so if they close it doesn't affect me and i live in suburbia because i like the quiet and being able to let my dogs run in the park so if the bars stay open still doesn't affect me. i don't care if avi black mails people or not and i don't care what his yard looks like or who pisses in it. i only got pissed when he put his hands on a woman...that was enough to piss me off and it was enough for me to make sure an assault charge was filed and it was even enough for me to wonder what in the world he was doing filming us instead of his story of the night. its pretty cut and dry, real men don't push, shove or hit women, real men don't even consider raising a hand to a woman. post this allen.

I'm new to Dallas and I first found Av's BD site via a link from another neighborhood site. I first found the site useful but as he continued to populate his writings with sterotypes and such an abrasive tone of hate, I deleted his URL. I agree with all the RPO activity and the neighborhoods strides to keep the streets safe from drunks etc. but BD's militant role just makes it harder for DPD. Instead of keeping drunks off the street..they had to waste time with him.
