Reduce, Reuse...

According to Wikipedia, source of all wisdom in the universe, Jean Dubuffet was "one of the most famous French painters and sculptors of the second half of the 20th century." Seems like a few too many prepositional phrases to me, but OK, sure. Also, the guy's last name makes me think of buffets and eating a lot, and that makes me happy, so I'm all for him and his art. Apparently if this Dubuffet guy's art mated with the art of Paul Klee, the Swiss painter, their baby would be the work of a local fellow named Richard Ross. And, lo and behold, your chance to see the art lovechildren of Dubuffet and Klee is here! Kettle Art is hosting Richard Ross' solo show, 100% Recycled: Landscapes of a Landfill, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. This is one night only, people, so get with it and head over to Kettle Art, 2714 Elm St., before you start all that Saturday night partying nonsense. (Additional fun fact: Richard Ross was the original bassist for the '90s band Brutal Juice. And suddenly I'm cravin' a gut-bustin' cocktail.) For more info about this and other Kettle Art shows, call 214-573-7622 or go to kettleart.com.
