Our fair city has long held a great relationship with the arts. Dance, museums, music of all kinds--the list goes on and on. So, really, the annual CityArts Celebration is a natural thing for Big D. For its sixth year, the Dallas CityArts Celebration comes as loaded as a Texas blue-plate special...and it's just as satisfying. Patrons can meander about the Downtown Dallas Arts District taking in local art (and Art Cars), live musical acts (Debra King, Kraig Parker and the DSO Latino Festival Concert, to name a few), kids' entertainment, dance performances and delicious bites from chef demos and tastings. Plus, aside from CityArts already being a free event, the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and Crow Collection of Asian Art will all be offering free admission in conjunction with the shindig (which totally translates to "air-conditioned culture" if the days get too hot). Festival hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (museums keep their regular hours).
