About 20 years ago I went to my first concert, The Jets, at Six Flags. I couldn't tell you much about the show itself, but I do remember thinking that concerts at Six Flags were a special breed, catering to kids (or young adults if you prefer) like no other. We ran around like fools and enjoyed our show while our parents or older siblings avoided the band shell like the plague, as though they knew better. It's only fitting that Raven-Symone, of That's So Raven and The Cheetah Girls fame, will be performing there this weekend to help the kids celebrate Independence Day. In front of an audience of tweens who think of her as a rock star and not the downfall of The Cosby Show, Raven will take the stage with Cymphonique and Veno at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. Tickets are free with park admission. Call 817-640-8900 or visit sixflags.com.
