Storybook Beginning

Sometimes, after a long, hard day, I just want to snuggle under the covers with a puppy and have someone read me a story. And, come on, deep down, everyone--no matter how old or how hip or how masculine--just needs someone to read them a story. That's why the Semyans' storybook collection at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, is perfect for folks of all ages. Arboretum benefactors John and Kim Semyan have lent part of their 10,000-piece storybook collection to help decorate the DeGolyer Estate at the botanical gardens, and each vignette set up around the grounds tells stories and nursery rhymes. The exhibit will be on display through August 30, and tours at the DeGolyer Estate take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. For more information about the storybook exhibit, call 214-515-6521 or visit dallasarboretum.org.
Mondays-Sundays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: June 1. Continues through Aug. 30, 2009
