Hot on the Grill

The Spitfire Grill isn't just a '90s movie about a recent parolee from prison who moves into an idyllic town looking to start over, only to encounter suspicion and find that things aren't what they seem--it's also a musical. Percy arrives in town, starts working at the Spitfire Grill and has to overcome gossip...and the aforementioned suspicion. When her boss, Hannah, is injured on the job, she also has to come through and triumph in the end. In the musical she does it all to a backdrop of original country tunes, with lots of singing and dancing to liven up the lessons learned in this musical adaptation. The show is being put on by Stage West, presenting its first production since returning to the Vickery Playhouse, located at 821 W. Vickery Road in Fort Worth. Tickets are $26 to $28. Call 817-784-9378 for showtimes and information.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: July 9. Continues through Aug. 9, 2009
