Art Conspiracy's annual event has become one of those things that you mark on your calendar every winter, RSVP to on your Facebook page, and then actually make the effort to show up to. It's one of the most talked-about events in Dallas arts--a guerilla art affair where artists produce their work on site and then auction it off the next day. It teams local artists and musicians while highlighting local landmarks, bringing together the community and benefiting charities. Last year, Art Conspiracy was bustling--there were kids running around, the art was amazing, and the event really fostered a community spirit. And on Friday, from 7 p.m. to midnight, Art Conspiracy gives us a little taste of what's to come later this year as they host the SEED summertime fund-raiser at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St. The artists that make the main event so much fun will be auctioning off lanterns that they created from recycled coffee cans to benefit Resolana, a charity that sponsors art programs for women in local jails. It's a great way to support a worthy cause and also take home an affordable, one-of-a-kind art piece that will live forever as a conversation piece in your home. SEED will also feature the music of Glen Farris, Airline and True Widow. Visit artconspiracy.org for more details.
