Balls Deep

With your own Texas Rangers and the Boston Red Sox in the heat of a wild-card race, this weekend's three-game series is huge. With less than two months to go, that long baseball season starts looking awfully short. When they faced off last month, the Rangers knocked the Red Sox out of their division lead, so this time, you can bet it's personal...much like any time someone from Boston gets involved. They're a team that draws a heavy fan base anywhere they go, so there'll be plenty of suckers in Sox hats around--ask if they like them apples, say hello to their mothers, and remind them why their playoff hopes are no sure thing. The Ballpark in Arlington's still the best place to watch a game live (not on the giant TV above the field), and first pitch Friday night is at 7:05. Call 817-273-5100 or visit texasrangers.com.
