Local legend "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was always known as a metalhead with a heart of gold, and there's no better testament to this fact than watching Dime's fans continue to help out his favorite causes some five years after his sad, untimely demise. The fifth annual Ride for Dime BBQ and Bash takes place this Sunday, with proceeds benefiting charities like Covenant House, Little Kids Rock, and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. It all kicks off with an afternoon motorcycle ride starting at Longhorn Harley-Davidson Buell (2830 W. Interstate 20 in Grand Prairie), with the route winding past Dime's Dalworthington Gardens estate before ending up at the Palladium for a little All-Star riffage courtesy of Ace fookin' Frehley, Aaron Lewis of Staind and many, many more. Tickets for the 6 p.m. concert are $35, but if you want a barbecue dinner and VIP gift bag, you'll have to drop $100. Visit ticketmaster.com for tickets or ridefordime.com for more information.
