With vinyl records, tie dye, acoustic music and campfires, SonsStock 2009 sounds like an offbeat way to spend a Saturday. And dig this: It falls on the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. This free, all-day event benefits the Sons of Hermann Hall Lodge 66, a landmark in Dallas since 1911. Head out to the corner of Elm and Exposition around 10 a.m. on Saturday to hear Peace Cowboy, Jim Bob Atkinson, Chuck Bond, Sam Baker, Texas Blues Caravan, Rodeo Lizard, Jenni Peal, Loretta Callens and David Hawkins, Lisa Byrn, Lu Mitchell, Christen Cross, Buckland River Devils, and Mullah Marvin and Texas Taliband of Blues. If you're a stranger to the Sons of Hermann, here's the skinny: Sons of Hermann is a non-prof, fraternal benefit society with the motto Friendship, Love and Loyalty. For more information and artisan booth rentals, call 214-923-6286 or visit sonsofhermann.com.
