Sing Proud

One of the things about karaoke that is so cheesy is that you are not only drunkenly singing some old song, but you are doing it with a recorded back-up band. Even with my limited experience of being in a band, I can say that there is nothing like it. The bass thumps inside your ribs, the guitars fill your head, and the drums--the drums are more important than the uninitiated imagine, driving the whole thing home. Every Thursday night at Scooter's Bar and Grill at 3421 Trinity Mills, Rock Star Karaoke combines the best of both worlds, offering a live band to back you up as you sing (or slur, perhaps) a selection form their impressive song list, which spans rock and roll from AC/DC to The White Stripes, and still includes standard karaoke gems like "These Boots are Made for Walking" and "Sweet Caroline." Have all your rock star fantasies realized in one drunken night! Well, maybe not all of them. These folks don't provide fame, groupies or guts. But they got what you need to feel awesome for about 3 minutes. Get pumped and prepped by visiting rskdfw.com.
