Minor League, Major Fun

A friend once pointed out that minor league baseball has the same type of fan as MLS: few and far between (but increasing in number, thankfully), passionate, undeterred by the heat of the summer sun and always ready to cheer on their favorite professional athletes. Grand Prairie's own minor league club, the AirHogs, aim (and swing) to please this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as they go up against the St. Paul Saints. Saints? Please. Thanks to Josh Hamilton (or is it thanks to the insane media coverage of Josh Hamilton? I'm torn), everyone knows such a thing just doesn't exist in baseball. And besides, AirHogs is a way more intimidating team name and way more fun to shout from the stands in between bites of hot dog and sips of cold beverage. Sounds like a good time to us, so why not fill the seats of QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie? Games start at 7:05 p.m., and tickets are just $6. Visit airhogsbaseball.com for more info.
Mon., Aug. 24; Tue., Aug. 25, 7:05 p.m.; Wed., Aug. 26, 7:05 p.m., 2009
