Fathers and sons have an interesting relationship. Some sons are expected to go into the family business, but John Harlin III took "following in dad's footsteps" to a whole new level. His father, renowned mountaineer John Harlin II was the first American to ascend the north face of the Eiger--the same Alp mountain where he lost his life in 1966. Years later, Harlin himself scaled the Eiger's north face--in spite of and because of his father. Narrated by Michael Gambon, The Alps in IMAX follows John Harlin III and his family to the Swiss Alps as he climbs the north face, giving audiences the chance to see spectacular sights as a son faces his own history. Take an afternoon and check out the amazing imagery of The Alps on Thursday, with show times at 11 a.m., 1:05 p.m., and 4:20 p.m. at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's Omni Theater, 1600 Gendy St. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for children and seniors, with membership discounts available.
