Watson + Young = Exhibition

Oh, the power of uncertainty. The beauty of ongoing research. Take Stephen Hawking for example. Even his Elegant Equation--that posed an understanding of the universe through combinations of mathematical findings, physics and works by greats from Newton to Eistein--is still questioned...even by Hawking. TCU's chairman and gallery director for the department of art and art history, Ronald Watson, as well as Richland College's professor of art, Gordon Young, admire the art in discovery and in "eternal questions." Thus, Watson's wood and mixed media sculptures and Young's mixed media collages offer mystery and juxtapositions that give a viewer that ultimate--and satisfying--cock of the head. Take in Elegant Equations at the H. Paxton Moore Gallery on El Centro's downtown campus through September 12. The gallery, 801 Main St., is open Mondays through Fridays, as well as September 12 for the Fall Gallery Walk. Visit ecc.dcccd.edu/campus_info/artgallery.
First Friday of every month, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Starts: Aug. 7. Continues through Sept. 12, 2009
