Labor Day in Texas is normally marked by oppressively hot flip-flop weather, but if you feel like donning your boots for a good cause, check out the Pickin' for Preemies event Monday at Billy Bob's Texas, 2520 Rodeo Plaza. Local country artists including Wade Bowen, Bleu Edmonson, Stoney Larue, Jason Boland and many more will perform acoustic sets, with the proceeds benefiting the Cook Children's Hospital. Tickets are $25 or $30 at the door. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. Call 817-624-7117 or visit ticketmaster.com.
