Labor Day has always been focused on barbecue for me, but visiting the Shops at Legacy and getting autographs from famous athletes on Labor Day Eve is a good way to begin observing the holiday. Legacy is opening a new set of stores with definite flare. Along with the usual face painting, balloon animals and tequila tasting (yum), Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. signing autographs and talking about the life of a gymnast. Summer's ending, and in keeping with the beginning of football season, Cowboys fans may also take a gander at Jay Ratliff, All-Pro Dallas Cowboys lineman, who'll be out and about signing autographs from 4 to 6 p.m. The Shops at Legacy is located at Dallas Parkway at Legacy Drive in Plano. Call 972-943-4624 or go to shopsatlegacy.com for more information.
