Look What They Found

It's nice to know I'm not the only one fascinated by other peoples' lost and discarded stuff. I was first made aware that I wasn't alone when I discovered Found, a zine of things (mostly written and drawn things) that have been found and sent in. So, it turns out I am in good company. The Found Footage Festival (foundfootagefest.com) takes the fascination to a new medium. Co-hosts Joe Pickett (The Onion) and Nick Prueher (Letterman, Colbert) bring their showcase of odd and hilarious videos to the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Parkway, at 8 p.m. Thursday. The Found Footage Festival is a live event presenting videos found at garage sales, thrift stores and in dumpsters; featuring gems from industrial training videos to the forgotten home movie to a video dating reel and many more. Tickets are $10 and are available at brownpapertickets.com or by calling 800-838-3006.
