For such a white-bread (or more specifically, as he describes himself, "fake Italian--like Olive Garden") comedian, Mike Birbiglia makes some pretty funny observations about hip-hop. "I love Jay-Z. He's so good at rapping that sometimes he doesn't even rhyme--he'll just end a line in '-izzah.' I ain't playing Scrabble with Jay-Z anytime soon. 'The word is Drizzah. D-R-I-Z-Z-A-H, triple word.' I'm like, 'I'm gonna challenge that one, Jay-Z. I'm gonna check my dictionizzah. First of all, it's not a word. Second of all, one of your Z's is a sideways N.'" Don't bother calling him white-bread, though: "That's not even an insult. That's my race plus a food. I can do that too, Black Bean Soup. You stay out of this, Asian Chicken Platter." Catch Birbiglia 7:30 p.m. Friday at House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St. Tickets ($28.50) are at ticketmaster.com or 214-976-BLUE.
