Forbidden Love?

Let's go back to a time when girls were known as "dollies" and "swell" was the new hit slang word. Let's go all the way back to a time when men were men and women were women. During World War II, Hitler was beyond bad, and the Red Scare was almost at its birthing point. But that's enough of the background information. It's time to enjoy a slightly more uplifting story from this historical American era. In the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Talley's Folly, Matt Friedman and Sally Talley fall in love despite religious and cultural differences. Will they beat the odds? You'll have to watch to find out. The show is directed and designed by Jeffrey Schmidt. Performances take place Thursday through December 20 at Theatre Three, 2800 Routh St. Tickets are $15 to $40.
