If someone already knows what's "in" for 2010, does that make the outfits he or she wears in 2009 out of style? Oh, discussions of the time-travel quandaries of clothing could go on for hours. Some may still be busy piecing together a winter wardrobe for next month, but if you're already ahead of the trend and picking out shoes for next year, check out The 4th Wall Gallery's World of Fashion exhibit. Chesley McLaren's whimsical French art designs as well as previews of her 2010 collection are on display through December 5. McLaren made her first designs on 7th Avenue and has since illustrated and designed for Bloomingdale's, DKNY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Saks Fifth Avenue and Ralph Pucci International. Her style can be found in more than just clothing too. She recently illustrated Karen Karbo's The Gospel According to Coco Chanel: Life Lessons From the World's Most Elegant Woman, and proceeds from sales benefit The Children's Medical Center. Other fashion art by Australian artist Kristian Mumford, American fashion illustrator Peter Bresse, and Italian artist Giulio Iurissevich is included in the exhibition.
