Hot To Trot
Every Thanksgiving, when I have to push away that fourth piece of pumpkin pie, I make plans to do better next year by stretching out my stomach and doing some running beforehand, so I can get that pie the next time around. OK, so maybe that's not the best plan, but there is a chance to get a little running in before that holiday turkey hits the table. The YMCA has been holding its annual Turkey Trot for the past 41 years so get your running shoes Thanksgiving morning and take part in either the 5K or 8 mile run beginning at Dallas City Hall. Money raised from registration and donations goes to charity and you've burned a few calories before you sidle up to the table. Registration is $22.99, or $27.99 for a timed run.
