Massive Menorah

What is it about a 15-foot-tall menorah that a 15-foot-tall Douglas fir just can't do for me anymore? Maybe it's the miracle of the Maccabees' victory remembered through the candles of the Hannukah Menorah. Maybe scraping wax buildup once a year is easier than sweeping fir needles for a month. More likely, it's because it signals a chance to flex some Yiddish in front of the cute Jewish boy at the gym while Stair Mastering off chocolate gelt. Whatever your tradition, Galleria Dallas will host its own menorah lighting--a 15-foot-tall one! Rabbi Dubrawksy will lead the lighting 5 p.m. Sunday at the Galleria. The Festival of Lights begins at sundown on Friday and ends December 19, and each night of Hanukkah another candle will be lit on the 15-foot-tall menorah, created by the Chabad of Dallas.
