"Santa's Coming! I Know Him!"

Top three Christmas movies of all time: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story and Elf. The first two are classics, of course, and the third, Elf, is on its way to being a classic holiday film. There is just something about Will Ferrell dressing up as an oversized wannabe elf that makes me laugh until I turn blue in the face and my stomach feels like it's going to explode. That's just how I roll. How can you not get tickled when Buddy (that would be the HUGE "elf") thinks syrup goes on everything, including spaghetti? How about when he thinks Peter Dinklage's character really isn't a little person, but an escaped elf? What about Buddy and the fake Santa getting into a fight in front of children? You have no soul if you didn't at least do an inside chuckle during those scenes. I also demand that you watch the movie again this Thursday, December 17, at Watters Creek (970 Garden Park Drive in Allen) starting at 6:30 p.m. They have set up a two-story inflatable movie screen for your viewing pleasure. (Oh, and A Christmas Story is on the big screen Saturday!) Watters Creek will also set the holiday mood with 10-minute snowfalls at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. For more information, call 972-747-8000 or visit watterscreek.com.
