Theater Camp

There's a certain charm to movies that are so bad they're almost good. That's true of Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space, dubbed the "Worst Movie of All Time." The 1959 sci-fi/horror flick is, as a guy dressed in a tux dramatically intones before the opening credits, based on the "secret testimony from the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal" that was put into motion by "grave robbers from outer space." From UFOs to zombies to government conspiracy, the flick fulfills all the requirements of a campy classic. Actors with Level Ground Arts are reviving the movie with a production of Plan Nine From Outer Space at The Dallas Hub Theater, 2809 Canton St. in Deep Ellum. Thursday's performance begins at 7:30, and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15 to $20. To purchase, visit smarttix.com or call 877-238-5596.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 10 p.m. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 19, 2009
