Documenting Life In Art

Diaries, landscapes and imagined alter-egos aren't far from things we as interact with on a daily basis. One might journal, track calories or a travel experience. One takes in landscapes pastoral and urban on any given day. And one surely imagines what the evil, angelic or genius twin would do in a situation. Conduit Gallery features three artists who take on these elements of a day in their works. Annabel Daou's repaired landscapes uses layers of text and paper to create atmospheric settings and chronicle events. C. Meng uses small drawings to capture his nine months in China in Beijing Diary. And in the Project Room, Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum uses her alter ego Asme to investigate her cultures as well as cultural identity. The shows hang Tuesdays through Saturdays through February 3 at Conduit Gallery, 1626 C Hi Line Drive. Call 214-939-0064 or visit conduitgallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 15. Continues through Feb. 3, 2010
