In The Bedroom

The differences between two people in a relationship make it pretty impossible to believe that any of us cohabitate for long periods of time. It's the little differences that seem to lead to the biggest fights too. A simple soggy towel on the floor, a dish left overnight in the sink, an innocent tryst with a co-worker. Well, maybe some situations are worse than others, but that's what makes our relationships so complex and yet so similar. In Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce, we watch as four couples with lives intertwined navigate the sometimes stormy sea that is marriage. The stage is set as three bedrooms, and the audience gets a firsthand view of situations they may find a little too familiar. From pure passion to utter indifference, these couples go through what most of us can relate to in our own lives. Ayckbourn wrote this breakthrough piece as an artistic director of the Stephen Joseph Theatre, a theater-in-the-round setting--so it's found a perfect home in Theatre Three, even if the couples haven't. Check out the performance Thursday through March 28 at 2800 Routh St., Suite 168 in the Quadrangle. Call 214-871-3300 or visit theatre3dallas.com for more information.
