I'll admit it. When I first heard the Dallas Opera was putting on Cosi Fan Tutte, I was unaware A) that it was an opera at all, and B) that it was composed by Mozart. Having now figured this out, my high opinion of Wolfgang has begun to wane. Cosi Fan Tutte, which loosely translated means, "women are like that," is a comedic turnabout in which the main male characters seek to dupe their lady loves, and of course, they're successful in their attempts. Sure, maybe in 1790. The show is set to open 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Winspear Opera House. Call 214-443-1000 or visit dallasopera.org.
