First of all, for those of you who have failed to "remember the Alamo," shame on you. Secondly, if the details surrounding the players of the 13-day siege--heroes Bowie, Travis and Crockett, along with the fiendish General Santa Anna--have managed to escape you, the Casa Manana Theater will present Alamo The Musical this month to help jog your memory. The play, a historically accurate portrayal of the almost two-week-long struggle between Mexican and Texan soldiers, will be told through the eyes of Enrique Esparza, a child that witnessed the siege. History will, more or less, come alive--with a soundtrack all its own--as the cast reenacts one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the Lone Star State. Though the battle scenes are deemed appropriate for all audiences, a child's perspective coupled with a musical frame should certainly make for an interesting depiction of an inarguably gruesome moment in history. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 5 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through March 7. Tickets are $15 to $17. Call 817-332-2272 or visit casamanana.org.
Fridays, 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 & 5 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 19. Continues through March 7, 2010
