Swedish, Vampirish

Sometimes in our modern world, it pays to be an individual. If you have a unique way of thinking about things, you could potentially invent some new wonder product, become the next big thing in the art world or make really weird music videos. But at other times, it pays to agree with the masses and be content to remain a Taylor Swift, rather than trying to be a Charlie Kaufman. Take, for example, opinions about Let the Right One In, the highly acclaimed vampire thriller from Swedish director Tomas Alfredson: Literally everyone in the entire world thought it was the best movie ever, and you really should too. Sure, it has some confusing plot points, and if you go to the bathroom in the middle, you'll come back with absolutely no idea what's going on, but, come on, everybody's doing it. Go check it out midnight Friday and Saturday at the Inwood Theatre, 5458 W. Lovers Lane, as part of the Midnight Madness series. Just make sure you don't call it "the thinking man's Twilight" when you're out in public--teenage girls can pack a serious punch. Tickets are $10. Call 214-764-9106 or visit landmarktheatres.com.
