Thomas the Tank Engine now qualifies for Social Security in addition to the sweet senior discount at Denny's. The beloved children's book icon is turning 65, but he isn't retiring from the railroad anytime soon. He's marking the milestone with a celebration tour that will stop at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Kids can take a train ride led by Thomas and snap a picture with Sir Topham Hatt, the railroad superintendent. Fans can also get Isle of Sodor tattoos--parents, they're temporary--dive into some arts and crafts action, and listen to Thomas stories. Enjoy a "Day Out with Thomas" Friday through Sunday as well as March 12 through 14 at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, 705 S. Main St. Several celebrations are scheduled throughout each day. Purchase tickets for $14 to $18 at ticketweb.com or call 1-866-468-7630.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: March 5. Continues through March 14, 2010
