Finally, Flemmons is able to get back to work on less pressing issues, like distributing the fresh-from-the-printer NX35 posters, fielding phone calls from reporters and keeping Brunswick out of the office fridge. So far, Saturday is a sellout, but no one knows how much The Flaming Lips free show on Saturday will affect wristband sales for the three other days of NX35. But never mind all that. What everyone's really wondering now is if Wayne Coyne's going to bring his giant hamster ball.

Brian from SA: A bunch of Denton bands playing to a bunch of Denton people is not particularly remarkable. Sure the bands and the fans would say it is, but an event built solely on that wouldn't really draw anybody new in and would essentially just be another night in Denton - and not worth the particular effort.

Chris Flemmons wants to put denton music.He is not in his right mind to take on a project as big as North by 35. And he accommodate the potential crowd.The NX35 would have enough to cover its expenses, and the show would stay free.Thanks for sharing you informative article to us.More power to your site! SUCK MY BALLS! There is so much in Denton that is better than those overrated f-cks ever were. "Last year's NX35 garnered mostly positive media buzz, though some criticized it for relying too heavily on local bands, but this year the goal of the event's programmers was to avoid those slights while still featuring a large percentage of homegrown acts." Exactly who are we trying to impress here, and why? Do I want some douche from New York sipping a latte in front of the courthouse and pronoucing my town cool? No, I don't, so f-ck them. And Daniel Rodrigue, where is your z? KEEP DENTON LAME! KEEP SAN ANTONIO LAME!

This well written article gives those of us outside the current youthful Texas music scene (because our myelin has sheathed over)an insight into what our world has become. It also points out how government beauracracy tends to dampen the exuburance of creativity. The response of the City of Denton could hardly be called visionary.

chris flemmons is one of, if not, THE best songwriters in texas...he's one of the purest artistic visionaries we've got in this damn town...conscientious, committed and genuine. be proud of his efforts and the nx35 festival... also, i hope the flaming lips play everything off of _In a Priest Driven Ambulance_.
