Picasso, Van Gogh and Monet. They never hit the big leagues until after they kicked the bucket. Ah, yes, that's usually the way the life of the starving artist goes. It can be a struggle sometimes, if not all the time. Just ask Jean Francois Millet. In WaterTower Theatre's production of Mark Twain's Is He Dead? Millet is indeed alive and indeed starving. Or is he? With no money to pay for a wedding for his girlfriend, Marie, he decides to fake his own death and pose as his twin sister with the hopes that his art will rise in value. Will Millet's cross-dressing plan pull through? Will Marie get the wedding of her dreams? You'll have to wait and see. Giving a whole new meaning to an artist's life after death, the production is directed by James Paul Lemons and stars Jessica Cavanagh, R. Bruce Elliott and Kevin Moore. It runs through April 25 at the Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 to $40. For more information, call 972-450-6232 or visit watertowertheatre.org.
