Have you ever loved a book so much you wanted to, you know, eat it? You know, like that copy of Wuthering Heights that is dog-eared on every page? Some famous movie claimed love means never having to say you're sorry, but we all have those confusing moments--especially with books--when we want to eat the things we love. Don't do it. Instead, check out UNT's Edible Book Fest, where people make up edible tributes to their favorite books--from Dr. Seuss book-cover sheet cakes to Oliver Twist (a twisted loaf of olive bread). Contestants must pay $2 to enter by Thursday. The contest takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Willis Library, 1506 Highland Ave. in Denton. E-mail ellen.truax@unt.edu for information. Proceeds benefit UNT's rare books collection.
Fri., April 9, 2-4 p.m., 2010
