Ruff Play

The cult of the dog has taken over America, and DFW residents (most definitely including yours truly) are no exception. The fourth annual Dog Bowl hits Fair Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, transforming the Cotton Bowl into a "Texas-sized dog park." Presented by Friends of Fair Park, the Dog Bowl is free and open to the public and will feature an agility course, giveaways and complimentary services, exhibits, ongoing contests, advice from experts and tons of information for you and your precious pooch. A misting tent and giant "dip and sip" dog pools will keep canines cool and quenched, and there will also be plenty of concessions, so even mere humans can indulge in a beer and some food as they pamper their buddies. Still looking for the perfect pal? Pets in need of a home will be onsite at Adoption Row, or come early for the "Tail" Gate Party, which begins at 11 a.m. outside the gates of the Cotton Bowl and will feature dog clubs, rescue groups and animal-welfare organizations. Visit fairpark.org for more information.
Sun., April 11, 1-5 p.m., 2010
