Bacchus--the old Roman god--landed an enviable gig among the mighty on Mount Olympus: He was the patron of winemaking. Bacchus' nickname is the "Liberator," otherwise known among undergraduates as the little voice saying, "Oh, one more couldn't hurt!" That little voice, buried from years of adult repression, may creep up again during the New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail tour in Grapevine. The journey, which begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. Saturday, visits several Grapevine wineries via shuttle. Passports are $45 per person. For the night owls, the Jazz Wine Train, courtesy of the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, will leave from the historic Cotton Belt Depot. The nighttime winery tour, plus dinner and jazz music, is included in the $55 ticket. The Jazz Wine Train boards Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:40 p.m., departs at 7 p.m. and returns at 9:30 p.m. The Cotton Belt Depot is located at 705 S. Main St. in Grapevine. Designated drivers receive free food and nonalcoholic beverages on Saturday. Also, enjoy the annual Blessing of the Vines ceremony and New Vintage Art Show on Saturday.
