You know what makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside? When someone has a dream and just keeps on chasing it, no matter the obstacles that stand in the way. (I mean, maybe not if the person is Scarlett Johansson and the dream is to release an album of Tom Waits covers, but in just about every other case.) Take Ukrainian fashion designer Sergey Ermakov, for example. He designs gorgeous couture dresses and is one of the biggest names in fashion in the Ukraine, despite losing 95 percent of his vision at the age of 11. He'll make his American debut Friday at the Designing With a Vision event at the Fairmont Hotel, 1717 N. Akard St., featuring two runway shows and a raffle benefiting the American Foundation for the Blind's Center on Vision Loss.
