Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and these young playwrights and directors are starting with New Visions, New Voices, a spring playwriting festival now in its 16th year featuring work written and directed by undergraduate SMU theater students. Brandon Sterrett directs Pretty, Smart, Poetic by Brigham Mosley, a play about a family struggling to find purpose. The festival also presents Viriol by Regina Bonifasi, directed by Angelina Fiorini. This story is centered on the comic world of Serai Asylum. The festivals' alumni have become successful writers, actors and directors. Join the festivities Wednesday through April 25 at the Margo Jones Theatre. For more information, call 214-768-2787.
April 21-24, 8 p.m.; Sat., April 24, 2 p.m.; Sun., April 25, 2 p.m., 2010
