The Perfect Game: Director William Dear now appears to be your go-to guy for forgettable, family-friendly baseball flicks. Following his Angels in the Outfield and The Sandlot: Heading Home is this Downy-soft, by-the-numbers biopic with Christian undertones about nine poor kids from Monterrey, Mexico, who became the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series back in 1957. Clifton Collins Jr. is Cesar Faz, a former St. Louis Cardinals janitor who never got his big coaching break because he was Mexican. Cesar winds up back down South, where he's convinced by a doting young ragamuffin to guide an underdog team on the road to victory. The film does a disservice to the community it depicts by rendering an inspiring cultural story entirely uninspired. —Aaron Hillis

My Family and I had the chance to see this film at a screening we were invited to and we loved this film. It had a huge heart, and was a story that made us laugh and cry. My sons loved the baseball and my daughter thought it was great to see Jake T. Austin, Moises (from Hannah Montana) and the other boys who they all knew. We also had heard about from our Church and one of my boys Little League Coaches. Funny but they both said it was great but for different reasons. The Dylan Family give it Five Family Stars!!!
