That Magic Moment

Most of us have been tagged in a less than flattering Facebook photo. You know, that one when you were taking a bite of pizza and have that eyes-half-closed, mouth-agape thing going on. These moments, although unflattering, present a realness to which posed shots can’t compare. These are the moments that artist Chris Panatier captures in Love Them Now, Always, a collection of oil paintings on wood panels focusing on the truth of human facial expressions. Kathleen Wilke's new series, Jane Doe, also focuses on capturing an instant in time. Stop by Rising Gallery to check out their work from Friday through June 5. The opening reception is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, April 30. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment Mondays. For more information, call 214-634-6262 or visit risinggallery.com.
