Original Sin

Contrary to what you may thing, "The Mexican Tsunami" is not the name of the newest WWE SmackDown personality, though it is still quite a force to be reckoned with. No, Sin Limite - The Mexican Tsunami, is actually a collaborative art installation piece by local artists Hugo Garcia Urrutia and MK Semos. In celebration of Mexico's Bicentennial, Bishop Arts District hot spot Decorazon Gallery (which is actually owned and operated by the two artists) presents Sin Limite, which features several of Semos' Holga photo collages that Garcia Urrutia then imprinted on reclaimed wood flooring. The two artists together have created a collection that reveals a new view of urban landscapes from all over the world. As if the works of Garica Urrutia and Semos weren't enough, there's this added perk: You can check out Lego, an additional exhibition by fellow local artist Ruben Nieto, which will be on display through June 8 at Decorazon Gallery, 417 N. Bishop Ave. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m. Sundays and by appointment. Call 214-946-1003 or visit decorazongallery.com.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: May 13. Continues through June 8, 2010
