Sure, Garth ruled the '90s country scene. But there was another Brooks--Kix Brooks--who along with his musical partner, Ronnie Dunn, crafted plenty of pop-country hits of our youth. It was that first album, Brand New Man, that came along at the right time to influence our nascent county-music consciousness. Songs like "My Maria," "Neon Moon" and, of course, "Boot Scootin' Boogie" were a big part of the soundtrack to the '90s in Texas. Now the famous duo is parting ways after nearly 20 years of top-10 hits and fulsome facial hair. What will we remember about B&D? Will it be the 50 singles? The copious awards? No, we will remember how their music crossed the political aisle, with the song "Only in America" appearing in official campaigns for both George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Catch the bipartisan Brooks and Dunn as their Last Rodeo tour stops in Dallas for a night of rockin' (should we say boot-scootin'?) country. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Superpages.com Center, 1818 First Ave. Tickets are $25 to $71. Four-packs of lawn tickets are available for $75.
