Sure, the Texas Rangers may be bankrupt, but at least they're not the Seattle Mariners. Messy as the home team's accounts may be, they're finally looking at a new owner and a good shot at the playoffs. The Mariners? Bankrolled by Nintendo, and they're still pretty much the worst team in the majors. After one particularly embarrassing game, M's outfielder Eric Byrnes left the stadium on a bicycle and quit to play beer-league softball. They're counting on the bird-flipping, bottle-tossing Milton Bradley (remember him?) for some help out in left field. They know totem poles in Seattle, and in the American League West this year, nobody's down lower than the Mariners. Still, between "King" Felix Hernandez, Cliff Lee and Doug Fister, they've got three dangerous pitchers to throw the Rangers' way. The four-game set this week is a huge chance for the Rangers to beat up on a division rival.
