The animals take over the barnyard in this musical comedy for kids at Dallas Children's Theater. But it doesn't become Animal Farm. The beasties merely want pizza instead of hay for dinner and while Farmer Brown is on vacation, they want his city-slicker brother to come out and play with them a little. This sequel to Click, Clack Moo: Cows that Type (both are picture books by Doreen Cronin) has a simple lesson to teach. That is, babysitters and substitute teachers are nice people, so don't try to play tricks on them. Director Doug Miller has directed the one-hour show with a lively spirit. The cast of five includes Brian Hathaway as Duck, Maxey Whitehead as Hen and Deborah Brown as Miss Pig. Meet the cast and let the little ones pose for pix and get autographs in the lobby after the show. Through July 25 (with lots of morning and afternoon performances) at Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman St. 214-978-0110. Reviewed June 25. (E.L.)
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: June 18. Continues through July 25, 2010
